When You Fell Asleep

I feel the blankness like a page that’s lost its color. The stirring of petals fallen from a once golden flower with your laughter and warm conversation. The lack of you pierces the cozy comfort of this bedroom where the cave of my feelings lies in want of your soft lips and your beautiful eyes.

I can barely take the silence and more than anything I just wish you were lying there, breathing slowly beside me in the glow of this warm light. I want you: the whole of you, and even that is an understatement.
